The subterranean termite is the most common termite in Arizona. They are typically 3/8″ in length and are commonly recognized by their pale yellowish brown body and rectangular head. They flourish in the Arizona desert and usually swarm during Monsoon season or after heavy rains. This species commonly builds mud tubes.
